BROMO IJEN TUMPAK SEWU TOUR FROM MALANG 3D2N
GLANCE OF THE TOUR:
East Java is one of the provinces in Indonesia that hosts some amazing places for the travel lists of the travelers around the world. For example, Mount Bromo, Ijen Crater and also Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. Three of them are the most Instagram-able places that has scenic view and stunning landscapes.
Some of the travelers has long holidays but some of them just have short time of visit. So, here is we make a short time that includes 3 of them that basically we need 4 days of visit.
The detail of the trip is below;
DAY 1: MALANG – TUMPAK SEWU WATERFALL – HOTEL/HOMESTAY IN MOUNT BROMO AREA
The day one of the trip we recommend to start early morning at 5 am if you are staying at the hotel in Malang area but if you are arriving by flight or train, we will follow your schedule. The drive from Malang to Tumpak Sewu waterfall is 2 hours away.
The best time to visit the waterfall is between 6-10 am in the morning, because the weather is perfect and it will be less people that later.
Along the way, you will see nice view along the way such as volcano view, abandoned bridge with nice view, villages and rice fields. Upon you arriving in parking place, you will be walk for some minute until you reach the panorama view of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. From this Panorama viewpoint, you will see the 180’ of view that makes your photo more amazing that others. Drone is allowed here and highly recommended to be used.
After enjoying the view from the panorama viewpoint, we have to walk for about 40 minutes until we reach the bottom point of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. The path to reach the bottom is quote slippery, rocky and a bit dangerous. So, make sure you always listen to our guide.
After you are reaching the bottom point, you will be amazed with the area that is surrounded by the cliff wall and thick forest around. The whole journey here will take about 3-4 hours. It depends how you enjoy the trekking and the waterfall.
When you have finished the trekking and enjoying the waterfall, we will escort you to the next destination that is Mount Bromo area for staying overnight before you will do sunrise tour on the next morning. It will take about 4 hours’ drive.
DAY 2: MOUNT BROMO SUNRISE TOUR – TREKKING TO THE TOP OF MOUNT BROMO – HOTEL/HOMESTAY IN IJEN CRATER AREA (BANYUWANGI TOWN AREA)
The day two of the trip, we will start at 3 am from your hotel/homestay in Mount Bromo area then we will drive for about 45 minutes to reach Kingkong Hill sunrise point. We will be riding with a local jeep here.
Upon your arrival in the Kingkong hill, we will escort you to have some hot coffee or tea while waiting for the sunrise. The sun rises about 5:30 am, so you will have about an hour to wait.
Bromo Ijen Tumpak Sewu Tour From Malang
IF YOU WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER VIEW POINT WHICH IS NO ONE AROUND, WE RECOMMEND TO VISIT ROGOWULAN HILL, BUT IT’S ONLY ACCESABLE BY MOTORIKE. AND YOU MUST LET US KNOW 1 DAY BEFORE, SO WE CAN ORDER TO MOTORBIKE TAXI FOR YOU. THERE IS ADDITIONAL COST ABOUT 400.000 IDR /PERSON
When the sunrise comes over, we have to leave the coffee shop quickly and get the best spot to capture the view of sunrise, Mount Bromo and surrounding.
We will be here until 6:30 am, afterward we will go back to our jeep and drive through the hill down to sea of the sand of Mount Bromo. Upon your arrival at the sea of sand, we will trek about 45 minutes to reach the peak of Mount Bromo.
The path is quite easy and not too steep, when you reached the top you can smell the sulfuric smoke form its hole and you can see how active this volcano before.
After enjoying the trekking, we have to go back to our jeep and drive back to the hotel for having breakfast, take a shower and continue our trip to Banyuwangi town for staying overnight before trekking to Ijen Crater in the morning. The drive takes 6 hours from Bromo to Banyuwangi area
DAY 3: IJEN CRATER TOUR – TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL IN BALI
The last day of the trip will be starting about 2:00 am, we will drive about an hour to reach Paltuding/start point of the volcano. Upon your arrival in Paltuding, we will be trekking about 1,5 -2 hours, it depends on your pace. When you reach the crater rim of Ijen Volcano, our guide will take you to the best spot to see sunrise and also the best view of the crater itself. Ijen Volcano has one of the biggest sulfuric lake in Asia and the lake has turquoise color with high acidity (0,5 Ph.). So it’s beautiful and also dangerous.
After enjoying the view here about 7 am, we will go back to our car and drive back to Hotel/Homestay for having breakfast. About 11 am, we will drop you to Ketapang Ferry Port and you must take a Ferry for an hour to Gilimanuk Harbor. Upon your arrival in Gilimanuk Harbor, you will be welcoming by our Balinese driver who is ready to take you to your hotel in Bali area.
OPTIONAL PROGRAM: If the weather is good enough and you have a good condition for trekking at night, you can take Ijen blue fire tour at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave the Hotel or Homestay around 1:00 AM or Midnight. Note: there is no additional cost to take this blue fire tour but this trip depends on the Ijen Crater condition, when it’s not allowed to go down by the local volcanologists, we only able to stay on the top of the crater.
