YOGYAKARTA – SUNRISE BOROBUDUR – YOGYAKARTA CITY TOUR – BROMO TOUR – SEMERU VOLCANO TREKKING – KALIBARU HIGHLAND – SUKOMADE – KEMIREN VILLAGE TOUR – IJEN CRATER – BALURAN NATIONAL PARK – BALI
(10 DAYS 9 NIGHTS)

DAY 1: YOGYAKARTA  – HOTEL IN BOROBUDUR AREA

The trip will be started from the airport/train station or hotel in the Yogyakarta area, our staff will meet you and then escort you to the Borobudur area for staying overnight. If you can arrive earlier for example before midday that will be great, so we can take a short city tour in the Yogyakarta area.

DAY 2: BOROBUDUR TEMPLE TOUR – MERAPI JEEP TOUR – PRAMBANAN TEMPLE – HOTEL IN YOGYAKARTA AREA

Borobudur is the largest Mahayana Buddhist temple in Indonesia and considers one of the biggest in the world, and for now, the tour here is pretty strict, because all the visitors are only allowed to visit from the bottom of the temple only due to the new regulation from the Borobudur Temple itself that they want to keep the temple less destructive and destroyed by people feet/shoes.

So the tour here will start at 7:30 am, we will pick you up at your accommodation here and escort you to Borobudur Temple, from here you will be accompanied by a local guide that will guide you for about 1-2 hours.

After walking around the temple, we will continue our trip to Kaliadem village where we can see the former village downhill of Mount Merapi that has been destroyed by the eruption. Here we will take a local jeep for about 2 hours to explore the area. After that, we will go down to the Prambanan Temple for our last destination for today.

DAY 3: YOGYAKARTA (BY TRAIN) – SURABAYA TRAIN STATION – HOTEL IN MOUNT BROMO AREA

After having breakfast around 6:00 am, our staff will pick you up and then go to Tugu Train Station, because the train leaves Yogyakarta around 6:45 AM and arrives at Surabaya Gubeng Train Station around 10:45 AM. After arriving at Surabaya Gubeng train station, our staff will meet you there, and then we will continue our trip to the Mt. Bromo area and stop on the way to have lunch in the local restaurant. This trip will take about 3 – 4 hours to the Mount Bromo area

DAY 4: BROMO SUNRISE TOURS – RANUPANI VILLAGE – RANUKUMBALA LAKE

Mount Bromo tour will start at 3:30 AM from your hotel and then the jeep will bring you to the world’s most famous viewpoints, those are Penanjakan and Kingkong hill, it’s located on the rim of the Tengger caldera (2,700m). From here, you can see the enchanting sunrise with the amazing scenery of Mount Bromo, Batok, and Semeru. After you have enjoyed the view here, we will go back to the jeep then the jeep will continue our adventure to reach the sea of sands in the Mt. Bromo area. We will stop at the parking area then you will cross the sea of sands by riding a horse or on foot (it is optional) till reach the stairs up at the slope of Mt. Bromo which will lead you to reach the peak of Mt. Bromo. At about 8:00 AM, the 4WD vehicle (jeep) will bring you back to the hotel for breakfast, take shower, pack, loading bags into our van. Afterward, we will continue our trip to Ranupani Village for about 2 hours driving using a jeep by passing small villages and beautiful landscapes from the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Valley. Then upon your arrival at Ranupane Village, we are going to Semeru Trekking Centre for registering ourselves and taking lunch. Afterward, we will do trekking for 4 -5 hours heading to Ranukumbala Lake (2400 m). Before Arriving at the camping site, we will pass the savanna and lake. Then, we arrived around 5:00 PM at the camping site (Ranukumbala lake 2400 m), preparing to cook for dinner which was presented by our guide and porter cuisine and we are in service by porters set up tents as well. Enjoy the view in the afternoon and walk around the camping site then stay overnight in the tents.

DAY 5: RANUKUMBALA LAKE (2400 M) – KALIMATI CAMPING SITE (2.700 M) – SUMMIT OF SEMERU VOLCANO – RANUPANI VILLAGE (STAYING OVERNIGHT)

Waking up at 4:00 am in the morning to enjoy breakfast banana pancakes or toast, coffee/tea, then go to the hill of Tanjakan Cinta (Love Slope) to catch twin sunrise above Ranukumbala Lake, it’s behind your tent, enjoy the scenery around. It could memorable time. Around 9:00 AM, you must pack your stuff and continue our trekking to the Kalimati camping site (2.700 m) for around 3 – 4 hours. After arriving, we will be served by your guide and porter to take a lunch break with a special menu. Then, it’s free time till your dinner time, you can walk around or nap in the tent.

After taking dinner around 7:00 PM, you need to take sleep earlier because around 11:30 PM, your guide will wake you up to prepare to hike the summit (hiking shoes, trekking poles, gloves, and personal water). After about 4 – 5 hours hiking, you will reach the summit and the sunrise welcomes you there. This is the special sunrise because you captured the highest volcano on Java Island.

Another incredible thing is you can see and listen to the sound of the hot ashes which comes out from the crater. It will be forbidden to hike after 11:00 AM because the activity of this volcano will be increasing. After enjoying the sunrise and surrounding, we will back to our tent for taking breakfast and a bit of rest before going back down to Ranupani Village Lake for our last night in this national Park. It could take 8 hours. You will have your lunch break on the way down to the village. After arriving in Ranupani at about 5:00 PM, we will be staying in homestay at the homestay of Ranupani Village. The temperature reaches 8 – 11 degrees Celsius during the night.

DAY 6/DATE: RANUPANI (2.200 M ) – KALIBARU HIGHLAND

After having breakfast around 8:00 am, you must be ready for packing all your stuff and luggage. Afterward, we will leave Ranupani Village and then go to Kalibaru Highland for staying overnight here. (HIKING’S FINISHED)

THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRIP TO SEMERU VOLCANO

MILEAGE OF SEMERU VOLCANO

Start from Ranupane Village (2200 m) to Ranukumbala Lake (2400 m) → approx. 4 – 5 hours

From Ranukumbala Lake (2.400) to Kalimati Campingsite (2700 m) → approx. 3 – 4 hours

From Kalimati Camping site to Summit of Semeru Volcano (3676 m) → approx. 5 – 6 hours

From Summit of Semeru Volcano (3676 m) to Ranukumbala Lake (2400 m) → approx. 3 and half hours

From Ranukumbala Lake (2400 m) to Ranupani Village (2200 m) → approx. 4 – 5 hours

From Ranupani Village to Kalibaru Highland → approx. 6 – 7 hours

 ATTENTION:

The hiking of Semeru Volcano requires a good level of fitness and the ability to walk long distances. Somebody who has mountain sickness or height phobia and also asthma is not allowed to join this tour. Individual or group departures are available upon request. We can customize any date based on request with a minimum of 2 persons in each group. There are two types of service to choose Deluxe or Standard Budget service.

ON THE OTHER BAGGAGE:

Preferably things that do not need to take in your bag to climb to Semeru Volcano like snorkeling stuff, so all items must be in packing before climbing in the morning from your homestay. Your luggage will be stored securely in locked warehouses in the homestay in accordance with what we provided or our luggage will be stored securely in our office, after the climbing activity arrives in Tumpang village, your luggage will be taken back by our coordinators. Please check again your luggage before you leave Tumpang Village, does not cost anything to your luggage is kept securely in our place. It’s the usual thing we do with our clients.

DAY 07: KALIBARU HOTEL – ECO PLANTATIONS TOUR (AROMA TOUR) – SUKAMADE TURTLE BEACH (B, L, D)

Having breakfast at your hotel, then around 8:00 AM, you will have a chance to enjoy the eco trip of plantations in the Kalibaru area. On this tour program, you will do short trekking through 09 hectares of plantations with varieties of spices such as nutmeg, cloves, pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa, coffee, and coconuts. You may also discover the extraordinary attraction of the traditional process of making palm sugar from palm tree liquid. Do not to forget for visiting the dairy farm. The trip can be arranged in the morning and takes about 1 hour until 1,5 hours. Afterward, around 9:30 AM, we will continue our trip to Sukomade turtle beach. It takes about 2 hours to reach Pesanggaran. Along the way, you will find some plantations (cacao and rubber) and brown sugar maker then you will be welcomed by the fishermen around who escort you to the green bay for about 10 minutes (it depend on the weather, if the weather is not good, you need to walk about 2 kilometers to reach the green bay). Grilled fish and fresh young coconuts are waiting for your lunchtime.

Around 1:00 PM, we will drive to Sukamade Turtle Beach for about 1 1, and 5 hours riding a 4WD car (jeep). You will be crossing the rainforest and rivers using our special adventure jeep. Upon your arrival in the Sukamade Turtle Beach area, you will stay in the guest house there.

THE INFORMATION ABOUT SUKAMADE TURTLE BEACH

SUKAMADE TURTLE TOUR ACTIVITY:

After having dinner at your homestay at 8:00 PM, The rangers of turtle foundation and natural resources conservation will take you to the shore of Sukamade beach to see if the turtle laying eggs. The rangers will give you very good guidance about what should you do and what shouldn’t do when you are there.

ABOUT SUKAMADE TURTLE BEACH:

There are no tourists in many quantities. Only silence of the woods, the sound of rivers, the hospitality of local people, and cacao and coffee plantations.

Crossing rivers, after 3 hours on the road and 2 hours of a bumpy road, your trip will be full of challenges. Deep in the jungle, there is a beach where the landing of turtles.

7 species of sea turtles in the world and 6 species of sea turtles in Indonesia, 4 species landing and laying eggs on Sukamade Beach. Seeing the turtles lay their eggs at night is the most poignant sight that can be seen by visitors. Imagining the sea turtles taking a distance thousands of kilometers from their origin in the other parts of the continent far away and just laying eggs on Sukamade Beach.

ACCOMMODATION IN SUKAMADE BEACH:

The conditions here are very simple, but more often than not visitors are lucky enough to come back with an experience that is both unique and bound to become exceedingly rare. Stay overnight and take dinner at the lodge or guest house in Sukamade beach

DAY 8: SUKAMADE TURTLE BEACH –  KEMIREN VILLAGE TOUR – HOTEL IN BANYUWANGI TOWN

After breakfast in the Sukamade turtle beach area, at about 7:00 AM. We will have a chance to release some baby turtles or little juveniles to the Sukomade beach. Then exploring the surroundings of Sukamade, is an area virtually void of people. Go and dip in crystal clear water nearby the river. Afterward, we will continue our trip to the Hotel in the Banyuwangi area for about 4-5 Hours. On this route, we will pass rural landscapes, villages, rice fields, plantations, and a beach. Lunch will be served on the way at the Local restaurant. About at late afternoon, we will reach your Homestay in Kemiren village where you can feel the super traditional life of the people around the village, drink local coffee, taste the traditional food served by the owner of the homestay, and enjoy traditional dance and musical instruments from the local villagers. Then, stay overnight before in Banyuwangi town before you enjoy the Ijen Crater trekking the next morning.

DAY 9: IJEN CRATER TOUR – HOTEL IN BANYUWANGI TOWN

The Ijen crater tour will start at 4:00 AM from your hotel then our car will bring us to Paltuding. Paltuding is a parking place where will park our car and start our trekking to Ijen Crater. To reach Paltuing, we will pass some coffee plantations, clove plantations, and rainforests. This journey takes approximately 1, 5 hours. Arriving at the parking area of Ijen Crater (1850m), From here, you need 1, 5 hours will be required to hike the slope o Ijen Crater. Along the path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shade. Rest on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2386 meters and enjoy the best panorama of the lake of acid water which reflects the spectacular view in the surrounding walls that gives the impression of doom. The sulfur miners go down into the crater and climb back up by passing a dangerous path on the edge of the ijen crater with a load of as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous and hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen crater is one of God’s amazing creations.

Do not forget to take pictures in this area as proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth. After enjoying the natural scenery at Crater of Ijen and then descend the slope of Mount Ijen until to the vehicles parking area where our vehicle is waiting for escorting you to the plantations. Afterward, we will be back to the town of Banyuwangi for having lunch at the local restaurant, and then we will drive back to your accommodation in Banyuwangi town.

OPTIONAL PROGRAM

If the weather is good enough and you have good conditions for trekking at night, you can take Ijen blue fire tour at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave the Hotel or Homestay around 00:30 AM or Midnight. Please check the picture of the blue fire at Ijen Crater on the Internet.

DAY 10: BALURAN NATIONAL PARK – BALI

At about 6:00 in the morning, our car will bring us to Baluran National Park in the northern town of Banyuwangi. It takes about 1 1,5 hours to drive to the entrance gate and then drive into Baluran National Park for about an hour. Beginning the trip in this park you will enter an area called evergreen forest where the forest along this path is always green throughout the year. After driving for 50 minutes leaving the forest, then you come to a vast field called Little Africa in Java. This vast savanna is a life of various types of mammals such as bulls, monkeys, groups of deer, wild buffaloes, and many kinds of birds.

A viewing tower with a height of 7 meters will bring you to watch different types of exotic wood. Your adventure will continue with the canoe on the beach which is only 15 minutes from the savanna. On this beach, you can sunbathe while enjoying the quiet beauty of the Java Sea, or trek through beautiful white sand.

Afterward, we will be back to the town of Banyuwangi for having lunch at the local restaurant, then we will escort you to Ketapang Ferry Port then take a ferry to reach Gilimanuk Ferry Port at the western tip of Bali Island. Upon arrival at Gilmanuk Ferry port, we will escort you to your hotel in Bali.
