WHAT MAKES THIS TOUR INTERESTING?
This tour is the same as “YOGYAKARTA BROMO IJEN BALI TOUR (5D4N)”. The difference is only in the length of the journey. In this tour, we explore those destinations within four days. This tour is made at the request of a traveler who has a very limited holiday in Indonesia but is willing to visit all the destinations. This tour is a little bit rushed, but it’s highly recommended to book it because you will get some experiences during the tour.
On this tour, you will be visiting Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, Sultan Palace, Mount Bromo, and Ijen Crater, and on day two, we will invite you to take a local train from Yogyakarta (Central Java) to Surabaya (East Java), which will be a great opportunity to see how the train schedule works here. On the last day, we will escort you to your hotel in Bali.

TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: YOGYAKARTA – PRAMBANAN TEMPLE ( YOGYAKARTA CITY TOUR) – ACCOMMODATION IN BOROBUDUR AREA
Borobudur temple tour will start from the airport in Yogyakarta. Our staff will meet you at the airport, then we will drive from Yogyakarta to the Borobudur temple area for about 1,5 hours. Upon your arrival in the Borobudur temple area, you will be staying overnight there before you do the Borobudur sunrise tour tomorrow morning.
Important Note: We recommend arriving in Yogyakarta before midday, or even better in the morning, so you have a chance to do the Yogyakarta City Tour, for example visiting Prambanan Temple & Sultan Palace, because on the second day, we have to catch a train at 13:38, so it’s better to do a city tour on this day instead of the second day.
DAY 2: SUNRISE AT BOROBUDUR TEMPLE – TRAIN TO SURABAYA – ACCOMMODATION IN MOUNT BROMO AREA
Start your day at 4:30 AM with a convenient hotel transfer to the main entrance hub for the exclusive Borobudur Temple Structure Tour. Due to strict daily visitor limits, climbing the ancient temple structure offers an exclusive, uncrowded perspective of the surrounding volcanic valley.
After slipping into your required Upatsuka sandals, enjoy a short 10-to-15-minute guided walk to the base of the monument. Ascend to the allowable upper tiers to experience iconic, misty morning views over Java’s countryside. As you explore the temple grounds, your local guide will share fascinating insights into the history, Buddhist symbolism, and detailed stone relief carvings of Borobudur. Before leaving, stop at the visitor hub to enjoy complimentary light breakfast snacks and coffee included with your tour ticket.
At 10:00 AM, head back to your hotel to refresh and prepare for the journey to East Java. Depart for Yogyakarta Train Station at 11:00 AM to check in for the 1:38 PM train to Surabaya Gubeng (arriving at 5:35 PM). Upon arrival in Surabaya, our local team will greet you and provide a comfortable 3-to-4-hour private drive to your hotel in the Mount Bromo area.
Note: You can buy lunch at the train station or a restaurant before the station and bring it on the train, because inside the train, there are not many choices for food.
DAY 3: MOUNT BROMO SUNRISE TOUR – ACCOMMODATION IN BANYUWANGI AREA (IJEN CRATER)
Mount Bromo sunrise tour will be started around 03:30 (when you come to Mount Bromo on the weekend, we have to start the tour earlier), the jeep will bring you to the most famous viewpoint in the Mount Bromo area. That is Penanjakan hill, from the hill we can see the best sunrise in East Java with mountains and volcanoes as a background. Afterward, the jeep will continue your adventure holiday to reach the sea of sands in the Mount Bromo area. We will stop at the parking area then you will cross the sea of sands by riding a horse or on foot (it is optional) till reach the stairs at the slope of Mount Bromo which will lead you to reach the peak of Mt. Bromo.
After enjoying the volcanic activity on the top of Mount Bromo, you have to go back to your jeep then the jeep will bring you back to the hotel for breakfast, take a shower, pack up, loading bags into our car then we will continue our trip to to the Hotel in the area of Ijen Crater for about 4-5 hours. On this route, we will pass rural landscapes, small cities, rice fields, plantations, and beaches. You will have lunch at the local place on the way to Banyuwangi town, and about the late afternoon or in the early evening, we will be reaching your accommodation in Banyuwangi (Ijen Crater) area which is only an hour away from Ijen Crater. You will be staying overnight here before you enjoy Ijen Crater trekking the next morning.
DAY 4: IJEN CRATER TOUR – BALI
The Ijen Crater tour will start at 00:30; our car will bring us to Paltuding (the Parking area before you start the trekking). This journey takes approximately 1 hour from the hotel in Banyuwangi, arriving at the parking area of Ijen Crater, and about 1.5 hours will be required to ascend the slope of mount Ijen to reach the peak of Ijen Crater to see the blue flame. We need to climb down the crater around 30 minutes (sport and hiking shoes required). When you arrived at the bottom of the crater of Ijen Volcano, you will see the amazing view of the Blue flame; everybody said, it is only two in the world (only in Ijen Crater and Ethiopia).
Important: Blue fire in ijen is not always visible, when it’s not visible, we will hike for sunrise and start at 2 am from the town.
When the sun rises, you will be invited to climb the crater to enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shade. Rest on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2385 meters and enjoy the best panorama of the lake of acid water which reflects the spectacular view in the surrounding walls that gives the impression of doom. The sulfur miners go down into the crater and climb back up by passing a dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with a load of as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders.
After enjoying the natural scenery at Crater of Ijen and then descend the slope of Mount Ijen until the vehicle’s parking area where our vehicle is waiting for escorting you to the plantations (coffee and clove). We will escort you back to Hotel for having breakfast and taking a shower before continuing to Ketapang Ferry Port then take a ferry to reach Gilimanuk Ferry Port at the western tip of Bali Island. Upon arrival at Gilmanuk Ferry port, we will escort you to your hotel in Bali (Ubud, Lovina, Sanur, Kuta, Canggu, Legian, or Jimbaran area).
