You will then settle into a cozy homestay nestled on the slopes of Mount Rinjani, where temperatures can drop to around 10-12°C at night.

If you arrive in the morning, we can arrange a visit to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls before nightfall. For safety reasons, a local guide is required to take you to the waterfalls, and the associated costs will be at your own expense. Day 2: Sembalun Lawang – Overnight at Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m)
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
After a quick breakfast at around 7:00 AM, we will head to the Rinjani Trekking Centre to complete the registration process. Our trek begins with a 2-hour walk, arriving at Post 1, where we will take a short rest. We continue, passing through the tall savanna grasslands, and reach Post 2 before heading towards Post 3, where we will arrive around 1:00 PM. Here, we’ll break for lunch, prepared by our guide and porter.
After lunch at approximately 2:00 PM, we will tackle a challenging uphill section. After about three hours of climbing, we will reach the Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim at 2,639 meters by around 4:00 or 5:00 PM. Upon arrival, our porters will assist in setting up the tents, and we will enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our guide. Overnight camping at the Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim.
Day 3: Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m) – Summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726m) – Overnight at Segara Anak Lake (2,000m)
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
We begin early at 3:00 AM with a light breakfast of banana pancakes or toast, accompanied by coffee or tea. Then, we begin the challenging ascent to the summit of Mount Rinjani, which takes approximately 3 to 5 hours. The climb is demanding, as you will navigate through volcanic deserts, craters, and canyons, requiring stamina and focus. For your comfort, we recommend wearing protective eyewear to shield against sand and a thick sweater, especially for beginners. The trek to the summit can be slow, but the effort is rewarded.
Upon reaching the summit at 3,726 meters around 6:00 AM, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views, including the entirety of Lombok Island, Mount Tambora in Sumbawa, Mount Agung in Bali, and the small Gili Islands. After 30 minutes of exploration and photos, we will return to the Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m) by approximately 9:00 AM, where we will enjoy breakfast.
After breakfast, we begin our descent towards Segara Anak Lake. This journey takes about 3 to 4 hours. The faster hikers will navigate a steep, rocky descent with a 35-degree slope. We arrive at the lake around noon and take a well-deserved break on the lake’s shore, where you can enjoy the scenic beauty and views of the active Mount Rinjani.
Lunch will be served by the lake, prepared by our guide and porter. Afterward, we will visit the hot springs nearby, known for their healing properties, particularly for skin ailments and rheumatism.
In the evening, we’ll gather around the camp, and enjoy star-gazing, conversation, or other fun activities. Dinner will be served, and you’ll spend the night camping near the shores of Segara Anak Lake.
