WHAT MAKES THIS TOUR UNIQUE?

This tour is all about the local experience that you can do in Yogyakarta and surrounding, the trip will take about four days, it will be started from Yogyakarta Airport/Train Station or your hotel and it will be finished in Yogyakarta too. On this tour, we will visit Borobudur temple at sunrise, riding a jeep around the former eruption’s spot near Merapi Volcano, Prambanan Temple visit, playing a local music instrument which is named as Gamelan that already well-known around the world, also we will do city tour around Yogyakarta too such as Sultan Palace, Tamansari Water Castle, and Ride a Becak (tuk-tuk) along the busy Malioboro street. This trip is highly recommended for Solo traveler, couple, family or even big group of people with more than ten people. TOUR ITINERARY:

DAY 1: YOGYAKARTA AIRPORT – HOTEL /HOMESTAY IN BOROBUDUR AREA

The first day of the tour, you will be welcomed by our driver who is ready to escort you around Yogyakarta and surrounding for four days. Our driver will show a paper under your name, so it will be easy for you to find him. Afterward, we will drive to Borobudur Temple area for staying overnight before we do sunrise tour on the next morning. We highly recommend you to arrive in Yogyakarta before evening, so you will have time to enjoy your Homestay/ Hotel in Borobudur Temple area.

DAY 2: BOROBUDUR TEMPLE TOUR – JEEP MERAPI TOUR – PRAMBANAN TEMPLE – HOTEL/HOMESTAY IN YOGYAKARTA AREA

The second day of the tour, our driver will pick you up at 8 AM and ready to go to Borobudur Park where we will register you before entering Borobudur Temple till the top of the temple. This is new regulation from the Borobudur Management to avoid mass tourism and destruction of its temple’s contraction. You will get special shoes and bag before heading up to the temple, you will be joining a group every session the  tour, mostly we have 1h to explore around the temple.

Up at the temple area, your local guide will show you the reliefs & stupas, you can also walk around as your wish but you will be not allowed to sit or even climb up at the Stupas.

About 10 AM, we will go back to our Homestay/Hotel and get ready to go to Kaliadem Area where we will take a Jeep tour around the former eruption area near Merapi Volcano.

The journey from Borobudur Temple area to Kaliadem Village will take about two hours and for the jeep ride tour, we will take the short one which is about 1H10M drive. During the Jeep ride, you will see the small museum that will crack your heart how dangerous the eruption here that was happened on November 2010.

After enjoying the Jeep ride, we will drive down to Prambanan Temple which our last destination for today, the journey will take about 45 Minutes, you will be passing small villages, rice fields and any other interesting sight along the way.

Upon your arrival in Prambanan Temple, you will be accompanied by a local guide here and he will guide you through the timeless Temple here. About 5:30 AM, we will escort you to your hotel/homestay in Yogyakarta area that we have booked for you. The trip for second day is finished.

DAY 3: GAMELAN MUSIC LESSON – CITY TOUR JOGJAKARTA ( SULTAN PALACE, TAMANSARI WATER CASTLE, RIDE BECAK ALONG MALIOBORO STREET)

The third day of the tour, we will experience the real local life of Yogyakarta people and also it’s part of Javanese people too. Firstly, we will visit a local village which is the place where we will learn how to play the most important music instrument for Javanese people even all around Indonesia. We named it “Gamelan”. Upon your arrival in the place, the local guide will explain you about history and the philosophy of Gamelan itself.

Afterward, the local guide will introduce you to the instructors who will show you how to play it and then you can try to play it by following the instructions.  Mostly it will take about an hour – two hours, so it depends on you too. After enjoying the lesson, we will invite you to try some local lunch nearby before we continue our trip to the next destination.

After having lunch, we will visit Sultan Palace which the must-visit place in Yogyakarta and also Tamansari Water Castle that has connection with Sultan Palace itself. By the end of the trip, we will escort you to try Becak/Pedicab/Tuk Tuk. That is a three-wheels bike that operated by a man by paddling it. It’s the most transportation that people used before machine came in Indonesia. You will be escorted around the historic places nearby and also along the famous Malioboro Street.

In the evening, we will invite you to try some local cuisines, by visiting local restaurant nearby afterward we will transfer you back to your accommodation.

DAY 4: FREE LEISURE – SHOPPING FOR SOUVENIRS – TRANFSER TO YOGYAKARTA AIPORT

On the last day of the trip, it will free leisure for you, you can decide for just going directly to Airport, or spend time in the massage and spa place, or even shopping a local souvenir from Yogyakarta before going back home.

NOTE: TIME TABLE DURING THE TRIP WILL CAN BE CHANGED WITH ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DURING THE TOUR.
