GLANCE OF THE TOUR:
Mount Bromo is one of the best volcano to visit in East Java that has many interesting sites to see and enjoy such as the beauty of mountain complex including Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, Mount Kursi, and Mount Semeru that you can see beautifully formatted by nature from King Kong Hill or Penanjakan Sunrise Point. Beside of the beauty of the nature, there is a unique culture and religion that the local people in Bromo follows. We named them Tenggerese people which is one of the oldest Hindu people in Indonesia. They are very different how to dress and how to pray with Hindu people in Bali for example.
So it’s very interesting to visit Mount Bromo and we try to offer something unique that is camping tour in Mount Bromo that normally the people staying overnight at the hotel/hostel nearby the Mount Bromo. And we will invite you to do camping directly in the sunrise point between King Kong Hill and Penanjakan Hill. We call it “Perahu Hill”.
We recommend to do this tour starting from Surabaya or Malang area, which is just 3-4 hours away to reach the village before Mount Bromo and we recommend to be arrived here after lunch, so we can do camping before it darks. For the completed itinerary, you can check the detail below
TOUR ITINERARY:
This trip will be starting from your pick up address in Surabaya or nearby, We recommend to start before midday then we will drive about 3-4 hours away to reach our basecamp that is Sapikerep Village in Bromo. Afterward, we will change to our jeep and our camping gear, food and any equipment together with us.
NOTE: WE HIGHLY TO START FROM THE PICK UP ADDRESS BEFORE MIDDAY, SO WE CAN ENJOY THE SUNSET ON THE WAY TO CAMPING POINT.
We will drive a jeep about an hour to reach Perahu Hill which is our camping point. We will pass the sea of sand of Mount Bromo and also the start point to hike of Mount Bromo itself. If we have enough time, we recommend to hike the peak of Mount Bromo in the afternoon which is much better than in the morning after sunrise. The reason is in the afternoon is less people and less dusty. But all depends on your time. We will decide when we are there.
Upon your arrival in Perahu Hill, we will walk a bit while waiting our team setting up our tents for tonight. When the weather is great, you can see the beautiful sunset over the Pasuruan and Malang town with the Arjuna Mountain as the background.
For this camping trip, we will have dinner bit early because we don’t want we eat our dinner with low light which only with our torchlight. So we will have dinner before the dark comes.
After dinner, you will have free leisure, you can just chill, enjoy the cold weather with stars above your head or also do astrophotography.
For sunrise, we will wake up about 4 am, which an hour before the sunrise, the sun rises about 5:30 am, but al 5 am you can see the light of sunrise already.
When the sun rises from East, you can see the beautiful color and it gives a light to the Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, Mount Kursi and Mount Semeru at the right side which makes your photo more amazing.
After enjoying the view, we will have a breakfast and ready for going back to the sea of sand and then start to hike of Mount Bromo (if we did not hike on the previous day).
When all is done, we will go back to the meeting point where our driver is waiting for you. We will put your bag in the car and ready to go back to Surabaya area.
OPTIONAL TOUR:
If you don’t catch an early flight in Surabaya, we will invite you to visit Madakaripura Waterfall. It’s on the way to Surabaya and it’s one of the most beautiful waterfalls too in East Java. But the cost is on your own (it’s about 350,000 IDR /person)
