TOUR ITINERARY

SURABAYA – IJEN CRATER – MOUNT BROMO – SURABAYA (3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS)

DAY 01: SURABAYA –  ACCOMMODATION IN MOUNT IJEN AREA (BONDOWOSO TOWN)

On the first day of the tour, we will meet you at your hotel in the Surabaya area at 9:00 AM, if you are arriving via Surabaya Airport or Surabaya Gubeng Train Station, we can adjust the pickup time based on your arrival in Surabaya but we recommend the time before midday. And then, we drive from Surabaya to Ijen Crater (Bondowoso area) for about 8-9 hours. In this route, we will pass rural landscapes, small cities, rice fields, plantations, and beaches. About late afternoon or in the early evening, we will reach your accommodation in Mount Ijen (Bondowoso area). Then, stay overnight before you enjoy the trekking in Ijen Crater at midnight.

DAY 02: IJEN BLUEFIRE TOUR – ACCOMMODATION IN MOUNT BROMO AREA

Ijen crater tour will start at about 00:30 AM, our car will take us to Paltuding (the start point of the trek), and you will be passing through the plantations and rainforest. This journey takes approximately 1 1/5 hours from the hotel. Arriving at Paltuding of Ijen Crater, about 2 hours will be required to hike Ijen Crater. Upon your arrival at the peak of Ijen Crater with an altitude of 2385 mAsl. You must go down into the crater to see the blue fire phenomenon that you can only see in Ijen Crater and Dallol volcano in Ethiopia. This natural phenomenon will be gone when the sun rises, it means we have to be there when it’s still dark. it will be a good experience for you to enjoy the only 2 natural phenomena in the world. And about 4:30 am, we will go up to the peak of the crater to enjoy the sunrise from above. You will be amazed at the enchanting panorama of Ijen Crater; it has a lake of acid water where the water changes to be turquoise color. The view will be so picturesque when you take a photo from above the crater. Besides the view, you will see the sulfur miners where they go down into the crater to take the yellow sulfur rock and climb back up by passing a dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with the load as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous and hard job. After enjoying the enchanting scenery at Crater of Ijen Crater we will go down to the parking area where our car will be waiting to escort you back to the hotel then we will continue to the next destination, that is Mount Bromo, we will drive to about 5-6 hours with some stops for lunch or minimart.

DAY 03: MOUNT BROMO SUNRISE TOUR – TRANSFER TO SURABAYA (HOTEL, AIRPORT, TRAIN STATION)

Mount Bromo tour will start around 3:30 AM (when you come to Mount Bromo on the weekend, we have to start the tour earlier), the jeep will bring you to the most famous viewpoint in the Mount Bromo area. That is Penanjakan Hill, from the hill we can see the best sunrise in East Java with mountains and volcanoes as a background. Afterward, the jeep will continue your adventure holiday to reach the sea of sands in Mount Bromo area. We will stop at the parking area then you will cross the sea of sands by riding a horse or on foot (it is optional) till reaching the stairs at the slope of Mount Bromo which will lead you to reach the peak of Mt. Bromo. After enjoying the volcanic activity on the top of Mount Bromo, you have to go back to your jeep then the jeep will bring you back to the hotel for breakfast, take a shower, pack, loading bags into our car afterward we will continue our trip to the Surabaya area (Hotel, Airport or Train Station). The trip will take about 3-4 hours.
