DAY 01: SURABAYA – ACCOMMODATION IN IJEN CRATER AREA (BONDOWOSO TOWN)

We will meet you at your Hotel, Airport or train station in Surabaya area (we recommend to be started at 9 am or before midday). After picking you up in Surabaya area, we drive from Surabaya to Ijen Crater area (Bondowoso Town) for about 8-9 hours. In this route, we will pass rural landscapes, small cities, rice fields, plantations, and beaches. About late afternoon or in the early evening, we will reach your accommodation in Ijen Crater area (Bondowoso town). Then, stay overnight before you enjoy the trekking in Ijen Crater tomorrow morning.

DAY 02: IJEN CRATER TOUR (BLUE FLAME TOUR) – ACCOMMODATION IN BROMO AREA

For ijen Crater, we will take a midnight tour, that is watching the most famous natural phenomenon of blue flame aka blue fire which is only 2 in the world. In Ijen crater, Indonesia and Dallol Volcano, Ethiopia.

We will start from our hotel in Bondowoso at 00:00, it will take about 1,5 drive. During the way to reach the start point of the trekking, you are required to make asleep. So, you will be fit during the trekking. The elevation of Ijen Crater is 2.385 m, and you will start from 1.835 m. it’s only 600 m hikes, and it will take 1,5 hours to the peak but to reach the Bluefire spot you need to go down from the peak into a rocky path about 800 m down. Trekking shoes and gas masks are highly required here.

After watching the natural phenomenon of blue fire, we will go up to see the enchanting sunrise above the crater. Here, you will be so amazed by the view of surrounding and also the hugest sulfuric lake in Indonesia. You will also see the sulfur miners here working up and down the crater just to carry the block of sulfur, they are working for a local company and per day, they will only get approximately 100.000 – 150,000 IDR (gross). Don’t give them money, better give them candy or food when you have it.

After enjoying the enchanting scenery at Crater of Ijen Crater then we will go down to the parking area where our car is waiting for escorting you to the next destination, that is Mount Bromo, we will back to our accommodation in Bondowoso area first for having breakfast and shower then drive for about 5-6 hours Mount Bromo area. Upon your arrival in Mount Bromo area, you will stay in lava view hotel or similar hotel for an enjoyable stay before you do Bromo sunrise tour.

DAY 03: MOUNT BROMO MILKY WAY TOUR – SUNRISE TOUR – SUNSET TOUR – ACCOMMODATION IN BROMO AREA

Mount Bromo milky way tour will start at 00:30 am from your hotel in Mount Bromo area, we will escort you to Penanjakan point for capturing the milky way of Mount Bromo. Penanjakan point is the highest sunrise point to see the sunrise that faces Mount Bromo.

About 3:00 am, some visitors will come over here, to get front place to see the sunrise here, you will be a bit distracted by them. About 5:30 the light of the sun will show up, it means the sunrise here will be raised up soon. Be ready to set your camera and capture the best moment of Mount Bromo.

After enjoying the sunrise here, we will take you back to our jeep and cross the sea of sand before arriving at the start point of the trek to the peak of Mount Bromo. Trekking to the peak of Mount Bromo will take about 40 minutes, and from the top, you will see the greatest sound of the active volcano and the smoke that spewed by Moun Bromo.

About 9:00 am, the jeep will bring you back to the hotel for taking shower and breakfast then you can take a nap for a couple of hours before we do sunset photo sessions in Mount Bromo area.

Sunset tour here will start at about 4 pm, we will go to Metigen hill. During the sunset time, mostly a lot of fogs coming and mist also. So, there will be only a 30% chance to see the sunset here. But, it’s worth it to try.

DAY 04: SUNRISE TOUR ON THE TOP OF MOUNT BROMO – SAVANNA IN TELETUBBIES HILL – SURABAYA

Another sunrise trip in Bromo will lead you to the secret sunrise point where nobody will come here and watch the sunrise here. That is the peak of Mount Bromo. It’s worth it to hike the peak of Mount Bromo for sunrise. We will depart from our hotel at 4 am, drive about 20 minutes and hike about 30-40 minutes. Sunrise is about 5:30 am.

After enjoying the best sunrise here, we will move to Teletubbies hill for another visit. Teletubbies hill in Bromo is one of the best spots for an Instagram photo, it has a unique landscape compared to the dry sandy area of Mount Bromo.

Around 9:30 am, we will take you back to the hotel for breakfast, take shower, pack, load bags into our car. And then, we will continue our trip Surabaya for about 3-4 hours (it depends on the traffic situation).
