East Java is one of the must-visit islands. You just need to cross the Bali Strait to reach the eastern part of East Java. If you have 3 3-day trip to visit East Java. Tumpak Sewu Waterfall and Ijen Crater are 2 of them.
TOUR ITINERARY:
DAY 1: HOTEL IN BALI – TRANSFER TO HOMESTAY NEAR TUMPAK SEWU WATERFALL
The first day of the tour, we will start at about 7 am from Bali, then drive to Gilimanuk Harbor to cross the Bali Strait for an hour.

Based on your arrival in Gilimanuk Harbor, you will meet our guide who is ready to escort you to take a ferry. Upon your arrival in Ketapang Harbor (East Java side), our driver and car will be ready to drive for 5-6 hours to reach the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall area.
If you wish to have some local menu for lunch, our guide will escort you to the best local restaurant in town.
Along the way, you will see the small towns of Banyuwangi, Jember, and also Lumajang. Rice fields, some small plantations, and small villages will be seen from the car as well. It’s a long drive but also enjoyable.
Upon your arrival in Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, you will stay at the local homestay that is managed by a local villager too. So, it’s quite basic but comfortable enough. The homestay has air conditioning, a private bathroom & bathroom and a local breakfast in the morning.
DAY 2: TUMPAK SEWU WATERFALL – HOMESTAY/HOTEL IN BANYUWANGI AREA
The trip will start after breakfast, about 7 am, it’s just 400 meters from Panorama point. So it’s very accessible. Upon your arrival in Panorama Point, you will see the great magical view of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. It’s one of the most amazing waterfalls in Indonesia with great formations of the falls.
So, you must take as many as possible before many people come. After enjoying the view from the top, you will be escorted by our guide to go down into the bottom of the waterfall. Please make sure you have wetsuits and also wet shoes because we will pass some slippery paths and also wet paths. Our guide will help you manage the trek down, so please listen to our guide.
Kawah Ijen Tumpak Sewu Tour From Bali
We will have 3-4 hours to enjoy the waterfall and also trek around. After enjoying the waterfall, we will be back to our homestay for taking a shower, checking out, and driving about 5-6 hours to Banyuwangi Town.
DAY 3: IJEN CRATER SUNRISE TOUR – BACK TO BALI
The trip will start at about 2:00 am in the morning, we will drive for about an hour to reach Paltuding/the start point of the volcano. Upon your arrival in Paltuding, we will be trekking for about 1,5 -2 hours, depending on your pace. When you reach the crater rim of Ijen Volcano, our guide will take you to the best spot to see the sunrise and also the best view of the crater itself.
Ijen Volcano has one of the biggest sulfuric lakes in Asia, and the lake has a turquoise color with high acidity (0,5 pH.). So it’s beautiful and also dangerous.
After enjoying the view here about 7 am, we will go back to our car and drive back to the Hotel to have breakfast and get some rest. At 11:30 am, we will be ready to take you to the ferry port to take a ferry. The ferry will take about an hour. Upon your arrival in Gilimanuk Harbor (Bali side), you will be meeting with our driver who is ready to escort you to your hotel in Bali.
OPTIONAL PROGRAM:
If the weather is good enough and you are a good condition for trekking at night, you can take the Ijen blue fire tour at Ijen Crater, but you are required to leave the Hotel or Homestay around 1:00 AM or Midnight.
Note: there is no additional cost to take this blue fire tour, but this trip depends on the Ijen Crater condition. When it’s not allowed to go down by the local volcanologists, we are only able to stay on the top of the crater.
