Day 1: Lombok Airport – Senaru Village/Sembalun Lawang – Overnight Stay on the Slopes of Mount Rinjani
Upon arrival at Lombok Airport, our team will meet you and your group for a scenic drive to either Sembalun Lawang Village (1,150 m) or Senaru Village, approximately a 3-hour journey. You will then settle into a cozy homestay on the slopes of Mount Rinjani, where temperatures can drop to around 10-12°C at night.
Optional Activity:
If you arrive in the morning & your homestay is located in Senaru Village, we can arrange a visit to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls before nightfall. For safety reasons, a local guide is required to take you to the waterfalls, and the associated costs will be at your own expense. If you’re interested in this excursion, please inform us, and we’ll include it in your final itinerary and pricing.
Day 3: Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m) – Summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726m) – Overnight at Segara Anak Lake (2,000m)
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Wake up at 2:30 AM and enjoy a light breakfast of banana pancakes or toast, along with coffee or tea. We’ll then begin our ascent to the summit of Mount Rinjani, a challenging 3-5 hour climb through rocky terrain, craters, and canyons. The steep ascent can be tiring, so we recommend wearing protective eyewear to shield from sand and dust, as well as a thick sweater, especially for beginners. Pace yourself, as reaching the summit at 3,726m is a rewarding but strenuous experience.
By around 6:00 AM, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the entire island of Lombok, and on clear days, you can even spot Mount Tambora and Mount Agung in Bali, along with the Gili Islands surrounding Lombok. After taking in the stunning sunrise and panoramic scenery, we’ll descend back to our tents at Plawangan Sembalun Crater (2,639m).
After breakfast around 9:00 AM, we’ll begin our descent toward Segara Anak Lake. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours, including a steep rocky slope with an incline of around 35 degrees. By around 1:00 PM, we’ll arrive at Segara Anak Lake, where you’ll witness the active volcanic activity of Mount Baru Jari, located in the middle of the lake. This vibrant volcano is both beautiful and powerful.
We’ll have lunch by the lake and then head to the nearby hot springs for a relaxing soak. The warm mineral waters are believed to have therapeutic properties, particularly for skin conditions and rheumatism. Afterward, you can enjoy some fishing activities with the porters or fellow trekkers.
In the late afternoon, around 5:00 PM, you can enjoy the sunset over the lake, taking in the surrounding beauty. In the evening, we’ll gather around a campfire, stargaze, sing, and relax before having dinner. Overnight camping by the serene waters of Segara Anak Lake.
Day 4: Lake Segara Anak – Plawangan Senaru Crater – Overnight Nearby the area
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast at 8:00 AM, we begin our climb to Plawangan Senaru, which takes approximately 3 hours. Once we reach the top of Plawangan Senaru (2,641 meters), you will be greeted by stunning views of Segara Anak Lake (2,000m). This will be our base for the night before descending to Senaru Village the following morning.
Plawangan Senaru offers the best vantage point to admire Segara Anak Lake, particularly at midday, and provides a panoramic view of the Gili Islands at sunset. In the evening, you’ll have the chance to stargaze and see the Milky Way from this breathtaking location.
Day 5: Plawangan Senaru – Senaru Village – Lombok Area (Bangsal Harbor, Senggigi, or Other Destination)
Meals Included: Breakfast
After enjoying a beautiful sunrise and breakfast at Plawangan Senaru, we begin our descent to Senaru Village, which takes about 4 to 5 hours. From there, we will transfer you to your final destination in Lombok, whether it be Bangsal Harbor, Senggigi, or another location of your choice.
